Lite-House, based on Waiheke Island near Auckland, was established to service and further promote the burgeoning interest in sustainable architecture and construction. The company sets out to design and build homes which are truly innovative, exceeding current standards for ecologically responsible building methods and technologies.
Bryce Ardern NZCQS, NZCD (Arch) Director – Design
Bryce is an architectural designer and ADNZ national award winner based on Waiheke Island. He has spent the best part of three decades in the construction industry, starting out as a Quantity Surveyor before moving on to manage divisions of Fletcher Building and then qualifying as an architectural designer. In 2001 he established Ardern Unique Design and Build with a focus on designing individual homes. Lite-House, established in 2008 as a sister company to Ardern UDB, is a natural extension to Bryce’s design portfolio and particularly relevant to Waiheke Island, where eco issues, sustainability and energy conservation are embraced as part of every day life. After 13 years, he and his family still enjoy the Waiheke lifestyle and everything it has to offer.
Clive Matthews NZCQS, Advanced Trade Carpentry Director - Construction
Clive has been involved in the building industry for over 25 years. He has qualifications and experience in the construction and management of both residential and commercial projects for clients and his own companies. Throughout his building career the desire to build solar efficient and eco friendly buildings has always been of intense interest. Living and building in Wellington for 18 years made him appreciate the extremes of our climate and the value of working to enhance passive solar principles. Joining Lite-House supports his philosophy for the future of sustainable homes for New Zealanders and harnessing our natural environmental assets to better advantage. Clive balances life spending time with his family as well as Mountain biking, fishing and diving.
